CSID has been Trusted as An Evaluator in Indonesia’s Development Plan

The National Long-Term Development Plan (RPJPN) for the period 2005 – 2025 is a development plan along with a national strategy to realize the vision, mission and direction of Indonesia’s development. The main vision of the RPJPN of the Indonesian Nation which has been written in Law Number 17 of 2007, is to realize an Indonesia that is Independent, Advanced, Just and Prosperous. To realize the vision of an Indonesia that is Independent, Advanced, Just and Prosperous, the national development mission in 20 years is directed at (1) realizing a society with noble character, morality, ethics, culture, and civility based on the Pancasila philosophy; (2) create a competitive nation; (3) realizing a democratic society based on law; (4) realizing a safe, peaceful, and united Indonesia; (5) realizing equitable and equitable development; (6) realizing a beautiful and sustainable Indonesia; (7) realizing Indonesia as an archipelagic country that is independent, advanced, strong, and based on national interests; and (8) realizing Indonesia has an active role in international relations.

The implementation of the 2005-2025 RPJPN is divided into stages of development planning in the periodization of the five-year national medium-term development planning, which is outlined in the 2005–2009 RPJMN I, 2010–2014 RPJMN II, 2015–2019 RPJMN III, and IV Year RPJMN. 2020–2024. The scope/coverage of the 2005-2025 RPJPN Implementation Evaluation includes three things, namely (1) Development Performance Evaluation; (2) Evaluation of Strategic Policy Effectiveness (effectiveness of the implementation process); and (3) Evaluation of Strategic Policy Impact/Benefits (on the influence/impact/benefits for the community). The three evaluations will be carried out based on (1) macro development indicators covering economic growth, GDP per capita, inflation rate, human development index, poverty rate, open unemployment rate, Gini ratio, fisherman’s exchange rate, and farmer’s exchange rate; and (2) the nine development fields listed in the 2005-2025 RPJPN document include (a) socio-cultural and religious life, (b) economy, (c) science and technology, (d) politics, (e) defense and security, (f) law and apparatus, (g) area and spatial planning, (h) facilities and infrastructure, and (i) management of natural resources (SDA) and the environment. The preparation of the Evaluation of the Implementation of the 2005-2025 RPJPN is primarily aimed at measuring the success of national development in realizing the vision of an Independent, Advanced, Just and Prosperous Indonesia supported by (1) a commitment from a strong and democratic national leadership; (2) consistency of government policies; (3) siding with the people; and (4) active participation of the community and the business world.

As the final stage of preparing the evaluation, an Evaluation Seminar on the Implementation of the RPJPN 2005-2025 was held with the theme “Creating an Independent, Advanced, Just and Prosperous Indonesia” and covered 4 (four) topic sessions, namely (1) Political, Legal, Defense, and Security Sector in Realizing a Democratic Society and a Safe, Peaceful, and United Indonesia; (2) Economic Sector and Facilities and Infrastructure in Realizing Equitable and Equitable Development; (3) Socio-Cultural and Religious Life, as well as Science and Technology in Realizing a Competitive Nation and a Society with Noble Morals; and (4) Sector of Natural Resources and Environment as well as Regions and Spatial Planning in Realizing a Beautiful and Sustainable Indonesia, as well as an Independent Archipelago State.

The RPJPN Implementation Evaluation Seminar was held on Monday, December 6, 2021 in Jakarta. On this occasion, Mohammed Ali Berawi Ph.D., as the director of CSID was appointed as an evaluator who gave feedback on the results of the implementation of development and also provided a perspective on the future of development in the field of facilities and infrastructure.
